6-Week Hand-building with Cathleen

Service Description

Fun-filled hand-building class to create project-oriented and textural artwork. Prior experience working with clay is not needed. Projects will be demonstrated for those without experience to follow along with the instructor. For those with some experience, students may come in with their own ideas and the instructor will teach how to achieve their vision. Best practices will be discussed, as well as the tools and methods to achieve a successful build. Themes and assistance with execution will be provided along the way. Some project examples include boxes with lids, large-coiled vessels, carved forms, and textural vessels. This class has an Open Studio and students are encouraged to come in weekly to work independently on projects. All work is to be glazed by the final week of class. Open studio dates/times will be determined at the time of the first class. Clay must be purchased at the studio. Cancellation Policy: TCP reserves the right to cancel, combine, or reschedule classes in order to adjust for enrollment. Six is the minimum number of students needed to run a class. If we must cancel due to insufficient enrollment, all registered participants will be informed and given the opportunity to register for a future class. If participants do not want to transfer, a full refund will be given. Cancellations 2 weeks before start of session will be refunded minus a $50.00 registration fee. There is an extra cost for pieces measuring larger than 12 inches. In the event of severe weather or unforeseen incidents, classes and open studio time will be made up when possible.
