Cylindrical Vessel Project Afternoon

Service Description

All New Class! No experience necessary! We use soft slabs of clay to create a cylindrical form and add a bottom. Then we let it set up and have some creative fun decorating the clay to create some fun detail at the top of the vessel or anywhere, really. This class continues to upon hand-building skills learned in horizontal tray class as students now create vertical forms/cylinders. Cylinders are the foundation to create mugs, vases, decanters, utensil holders, vases, etc. A variety of decorative technique are covered from carving, cutting, appliques, etc. Students continue learning best practices utilizing different tools, vocabulary and how to apply it to clay, they select their choice of glaze and pick up work in 3-4 weeks.
