All New Workshop with Visiting Artist Laura Mehr. Laura is excited to share her process of creating these amazing houses! Some clay experience necessary! (Members see Cathleen for discount). Reserve your spot today! The workshop meets 5 times over a 4-week period. Attendees purchase clay from the studio and use their own Stroke and Coat Glazes. Stroke and Coat glazes will be available at a nominal fee. The workshop meets Tuesday/Thursdays August 5, 7, 12, 14, and then the final date of August 28th is the glaze day. Open studio may be available and arranged under the discretion/determination of the instructor. Students create two houses: one approximately 10" and a larger one as tall as 16". Students learn what's structurally necessary to scale up by creating the smaller version and then delving into the masterpiece build! Along the way, students learn the pitfalls and reasoning behind the build, have discussions regarding structure. Students create their template for the build and the structure will be discussed. Bring drawings/images of your houses. The build should be completed and on the drying shelf by Aug. 14th to timely glaze them on August 28th. View images below.
