Service Description

Bas Relief/Low Relief Sculpture Class with Cathleen. Students may create anything they envision. This is for the beginner to the experienced. Students will create a cradled panel structure and decorate it similar to that of the instructor or they can create their own themed piece with guidance for successful outcome and aesthetics. If you have a vision in your mind, please bring a picture. Students come in on Day 1 to create the cradled panel. Day 2, after the clay panel has set up, students will come in to decorate it with their vision or the examples provided. The piece then needs to dry slowly and get bisque fired. Once bisque fired, students return to the studio (Day 3) either 9/11 or 9/18, 12-3 PM, for an independent study to use colored Stroke & Coat glazes to paint their pieces. The course includes the clay, the bisque firing, and glaze firing, 6 hours of instruction and the use of commercial glazes to create a vibrant piece. This is the only class we offer where students return to glaze their work. Cancellation policy: Cancellations receive a 50% refund or postponement to a later class, if cancelled 48 hours prior to the beginning of the first class. This class must have a minimum of 6 students to run. Cancellations incur a $10 credit card processing fee. If the studio cancels, there is no fee.
