Service Description

A 3-Day Workshop in Process, Patience, and Finished Artwork $300 | All Materials Included | Limited to 6 Students This workshop is perfect for beginners to experience the magic of printing in the sun, while also offering a thoughtful, professional pathway to finished artwork. What makes this class unique is its final step: encaustic wax finishing, a process rarely taught alongside cyanotype that transforms prints into fully resolved, archival works of art. Using the sun as our exposure tool, students will create luminous solar blue / indigo cyanotype prints using botanicals and natural materials. Over three carefully paced sessions, students will learn not only how to make cyanotypes, but why time, patience, and proper process are essential for success. This is not a rushed workshop. Skipping drying and curing stages leads to failure—and this class is designed for success. CLASS DATES (ALL DATES REQUIRED) Day 1: February 3, 12:00–2:00 PM Rain Date for Day 1: February 5, 12:00–2:00 PM Day 2: February 17, 12:00–1:00 PM Day 3: February 19, 12:00–2:00 PM ⚠️ Sun Required: This workshop relies entirely on natural sunlight. If weather conditions prevent sun exposure, sessions will be rescheduled. Registration commits students to all sessions and potential rain dates. WHAT YOU WILL MAKE Each student will create: • Two 6 × 8 cyanotype prints • Two 12 × 12 cyanotype prints • Two finished encaustic-mounted artworks (one 6 × 8, one 12 × 12) Students will select their strongest prints to mount and finish. $300 | All Materials Included This workshop includes premium archival papers, chemistry, two cradled wood panels, encaustic materials, and small-group instruction. Students leave with two finished encaustic-mounted cyanotype artworks and the knowledge to continue the process at home. 👉 Please take a moment to read our Cancellation Policy, located on our website under Studio Policy, before registering.
