Thrown & Altered Vessels with Cathleen

Service Description

Class meets twice: first session to create and second session to glaze. Geared to those that can create vessels on the pottery wheel. Students throw vessels on the wheel and altering them. We will be breaking out texture and several methods of creative decoration will be demonstrated. Please see photographs below. Students can come in with ideas and instructor will help them achieve their vision. The vessel in the cover picture will be created and demonstrated for students. Once bisque fired, students return at a later date to glaze their work during an open studio with the instructor on a date/time to be determined. Students are strongly encouraged to bring a notebook and take notes on the process. Clay purchased from the studio. Minimum of 6 participants for class to run. Pieces over 12" have a $5 surcharge. Should students wish to utilize underglazes in their decoration, Amaco or Speedball Underglazes are highly recommended.
