Service Description
Homeschool Pottery Class – Hand-Building with Clay No Class 10/27 so pieces can be fired timely No prior experience required | Ages 7–10 Join artist and instructor Cathleen Sullivan in a welcoming, hands-on pottery class designed specifically for homeschool students with no previous experience. Students will explore the fundamentals of clay through fun, structured hand-building projects in a relaxed and encouraging environment. Class Details: -- Ages: 10-17 -- Skill Level: No experience necessary -- Format: 1.5-hour (up to 2 hours) of guided sessions -- Projects: Students will complete 3 unique hand-building projects over the first 3 weeks. After a break to allow for kiln firing, students return for a glaze session to finish their creations. Step Up Certified: Treasure Coast Pottery and instructor Cathleen Sullivan is certified to teach through Florida’s Step Up for Students program. Please make your payment in full on our website reserve your spot. An invoice with all required reimbursement details will be provided to each student on the first day of class. Parent Participation & Studio Guidelines: -- Parents may enroll and participate in the class alongside their child (tuition applies to both). -- Parents may also drop off students or wait in the front-end gallery. -- Please refrain from entering the working studio space during class, as other students or members may be working. Special Needs Policy: Cathleen has experience working with special needs students but is not a certified special education instructor. All children are welcome; however, if your child has behavioral or learning challenges that may impact instruction, a parent or guardian must remain to assist and shadow the student during class. Our goal is to ensure every child receives the attention and support they need to learn and thrive creatively. After the Last Glaze Class: Parents/Guardians will be notified when finished work is ready for pickup. You’re also welcome to contact the studio for a status update at any time. Interested in Wheel Throwing? Wheel classes are available to youth who are physically mature enough, can focus for a 3-hour session, and complete a required safety course. These students may be placed in an adult 6-week wheel class. Please call the studio to speak with Cathleen before registering any youth for wheel classes. Questions?
