The Vase Project — 3-Hour Hand-Building Workshop $95 | All materials included Create a striking slab-built vessel in this hands-on ceramic workshop. In this focused 3-hour class, students will design and build a 10-inch tall, four-sided vessel using slab construction techniques. This architectural form creates strong lines and a contemporary structure while allowing room for individual expression. Students will learn how to use the slab roller, cut and measure clay slabs, and assemble panels to construct a balanced vessel with clean edges and stable form. Instruction will cover joining techniques, structure, and basic finishing methods to ensure the piece holds its shape during drying and firing. This class emphasizes building and form, making it a great opportunity to learn foundational hand-building techniques while creating a bold ceramic vessel. Class size is limited so each student receives plenty of individual guidance during the build. This workshop includes a more advanced build and is best suited for students with some clay experience. Beginners are welcome but may want to take an introductory class first. Supportive, step-by-step instruction helps everyone leave with a well-built piece. All materials included — clay, tools, glazing, and firing. Finished pieces will be glazed by staff and ready for pickup after firing.
